New Microsoft Kin Social Media Phone Reviewed

Wednesday, 05 May 2010

Mircosoft have released their purpose built social media phone The Kin.  Aimed at the teenage market by specialising in connecting all your social networking sites in one place.

Engadget reviews the phone here – The results aren’t so good as again Microsoft fails to provide a useable interface and apparently doesn’t even come close to what it’s offering as a unique selling point – the integrated social media environment!

Sharing content becomes a chore and can only be done via email.  Retweeting and direct messaging within their twitter application can only be done by loading twitter.com in a browser and then performing the action.  Sharing music is a no and the phones stability is questionable according to Engadget.

I fail to understand how a company as rich and as large as Microsoft with its immense resources continues to stumble in the mobile market.  The continuous release of unpolished and second rate products have deservedly given Microsoft it’s place at the bottom of the pile of preference when choosing a mobile device.
